The package we received came with the
following contents:
-
MP3 Player
-
Earphones
-
Parallel Port
Data Cable
-
Two AAA
Batteries
-
Software CD
-
Manual
- Case
- Memory
Card [Option]
The package comes with pretty much
everything (even batteries), the only extra option is an extra 32MB
card for extra storage. The software the player comes with,
does the job quite well and is extremely easy to use. All you
have to do is plug the parallel port cable in, and drag and drop the
songs you want and it sends the songs to the players memory. The
manual Pine included was very helpful in explaining which buttons
did what. All you need to know is right in there – detailed with
nice diagrams too. Here is a shot of
the program, you'll have to click on it to see the larger image:

First and Foremost,
you'll have to transfer songs to the player before you can listen to
it. As I've stated above, transferring music from your hard
drive couldn't be easier. However, the time it takes may be a
bit frustrating if you're not a patient person. Here are the
lengths of time it took us to download some MP3 files:
5.07MB MP3:
Time: 3:38 |
Full 32MB Trial:
Time: 21:20 |
As you can see, the time
it takes to download MP3 files to the player take quite a
while. If you're going on a trip, make sure you do it the day
before! Last minute transferring will not work in this case,
unless you're comfortable to listening one song over and over :)
Ok,
lets talk about the sound quality of this device, in terms of
playback, this remarkable music machine provides crisp and clear
music that will take your breath away, it's a lot better than other
MP3 players we've heard. The equalizer selections; pop, classical,
jazz, ex-bass and the standard flat are all amazing and work very
well!
The player has two modes, one being MP3, and the other, voice
recording.
During our laughable moments in “voice recording’ mode,
from whispering to screaming, near or far, the D’music’s
playback was clean and excellent.
Lastly,
there is a handy lock switch on the right side of D’music MP3
player just in case you accidentally hit any of the keys while
you're listening to your favorite music.
As
for quality design, Pine Technology didn’t go cheap on us.
The set of earphones they provide are astounding.
Gold plated jack and not to mention, the earpiece was very
comfortable and definitely provided a lot of bass (unlike cheap
earphones).

The Pine D'Music Portable Digital MP3
Player sets a new standard in audio quality for MP3 Players.
With 32MB built-in and an optional 32MB flash card , the player
has
plenty of storage room for your choice of MP3 files to bring on the
road with you wherever you go. This small, lightweight player
easily hides in your pocket and you can hardly tell its there.
The headphones (with gold plated jack) are outstanding, and we're
glad Pine didn't cut any corners on the audio side of things. The
software that Pine included to transfer files to the player is as
easy as can be to use and works great. The only problem with
this player is the extremely slow transfer rate from your hard drive
to the player's memory or flash card. This is mainly due to
the slow nature of the parallel port, but Pine should kick a
little more speed out of it or move to a USB connection instead.
